Skyline ATS Helping to Lead the Next Generation of Cyber Defenders featured on the Today Show
Baltimore, MD, June 2018 – Skyline Advanced Technology Services (ATS) instructors Stephen Dugan and Nicky DeBolt had the privilege of coaching four teams of high school students, three of which made it to the finals in the US CyberPatriot Competition in Baltimore, MD. The top 24 teams sought out cybersecurity vulnerabilities within images of real-life operating systems and worked to harden these systems while maintaining critical services in a six-hour period.
Sporting their Skyline team jackets, students sparked conversations among executives and representatives from companies including Cisco, Facebook, Boeing, and AT&T.
CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation’s future.
It was an unforgettable weekend full of challenges and new experiences. Skyline is proud to support the next generation of cybersecurity experts. We can’t wait to see where they head next.
